EFAS Website Partner Regions
The EFAS partner regions are displayed on the website (you can view the layer without a login by selecting 'EFAS Partner Regions' from the 'Static' menu tab - see screenshot below).
This layer shows the spatial coverage of the EFAS partners, it is to partners within this coverage that our dissemination centre will issue flood notifications. The layer has 3 colours which correspond to the responsible local dissemination centre:
Yellow = notifications disseminated by the Swedish Hydro- Meteorological Institute (SMHI) Pink = notifications disseminated by the RijksWaterStaat (RWS) Blue = notifications disseminated by the Slovak Hydro- Meteorological Institute (SMHU)
Within the shapefile the attribute 'DISS_CENTR' corresponds to each of the colours above: 1 = yellow region (SMHI responsibility) 2 = pink region (RWS responsibility) 3 = blue region (SMHU responsibility)
When a new partner is added to EFAS, the dissemination centres decide whose responsibility it will be. I then get a shapefile of this new region and add the 'DISS_CENTR' attribute to it with the value which corresponds to the responsible dissemination centre. I then want to dissolve this new partner shapefile into the shapefile which is shown on the EFAS website using the DISS_CENTR attribute.
