Here you will find the installation guide to make the Add-Ons work and more information about the Flipper Add-Ons!

Flipper GPIO pins and Add-Ons

Flipper's GPIO pins (General Purpose Input/Output) are a way to control external devices. These pins can be used to control the on/off state of devices, read data from devices, or send data to devices.

Addons are electronic devices that can be connected to the Flipper to add new features. Addons connect to the Flipper's GPIO pins.

Flipper Firmware

Flipper comes with a default and official firmware which includes really useful and funny features, but this firmware limit us to the default applications.

In order to make the Electronic Cats Flipper Shield the flipper must have the Unleashed firmware.

Flash Unleashed firmware

1. Download and install qFlipper

There are two ways to install a different firmware to the Flipper, the qFlipper tool or via the Mobile App. We highly recommend you perform this update with the qFlipper tool which can be downloaded from the official Flipper Zero website here:

2. Download the latest version of the Unleashed firmware.

This firmware adds new feature and improvements of original firmware components, with almost no UI changes. With this customized firmware you will have all the apps needed to make Electronic Cats Flipper Shields work easily.

You can find the latest version of the firmware in the official GitHub repository here: Unleashed Firmware by DarkFlippers

You may find different variants of the same release, we recommend you read the meaning of each variant. The variant recommended and used for this guide is the variant n and e.

3. Time to flash.

  1. Open qFlipper

  1. Connect your Flipper via USB to the computer. If qFlipper cannot recognize it close any other software instance that may use the Flipper like the Web Updater.
