A proposal for an addition to Muck Rock's existing interface that will

Basic Specs:

When you select an agency,

• we'll return a score for the agency, based on the FOIA Scores work.

When you add the description of your request,

• we'll use NLTK to score it for specificity -- is this more or less specific than other successful requests?
• we'll look for specific rephrases to suggest. Instead of "documents", "documents in your control or [what is the word?]
• we'll look for signs that your request is about a living person and offer guidelines for making it more successful.

Sample texts:

All information or records in your agency's custody or control referring to Malik Jalal, a Pakistani man who is one of the leaders of the North Waziristan Peace Committee (NWPC).

or

Manuals, database schemas, and other supporting documents that explain the structure and use of The Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System.
