aws-amplify was bumped to 5.3.5 in #22 and worked fine when tested on treehoose with federated login, but it doesn't work on HIC-TRE staging with non-federated login.

what was wrong with version 5? haha

One of the other dependencies required v4 of aws-amplify, which meant two versions of aws-amplify were present. This seemed to work with treehoose SSO so I didn't notice the problem but not tre-staging.
