About

A demonstration responsive child theme for the Wonderflux WordPress theme framework (requires Wonderflux version 2 minimum) - https://github.com/Jonnyauk/Wonderflux

Could be used as a starter child theme, take a look at the code - lots of comments for you to learn how to use Wonderflux!

Showcases some of the features of creating your own Wonderflux child theme, such as smarter template parts, auto-insertion of widgets, filtering of Wonderflux output and much more ;)

You can view a live demonstration of this theme at: http://wonderflux.com/demo-girder

NOTE: This theme is configured not to show menus (including the responsive menu) if they are not set-up in the admin area. Once activated, go to Appearance > Menus > Manage locations to set a menu to display in the header and footer).

REQUIRES the free, Open Source Wonderflux theme framework - available from https://github.com/Jonnyauk/Wonderflux

Read the Wonderflux getting started documentation at http://wonderflux.com/getting-started

Theme features

  • Responsive layout
  • Automatic responsive menu for primary navigation
  • 2 editable menus (that auto-hide if not set in WordPress admin)
  • 5 editable widget areas

Installation

  • Copy Wonderflux theme framework to wp-content/themes directory (ensure directory is called 'wonderflux').
  • Copy the Girder theme wp-content/themes directory (this can be renamed to anything you wish).
  • In WordPress admin goto Appearance > Themes.
  • Activate WFX Girder theme.

Configuration

  • Go to Appearance > Menus to configure editable menus in the theme (they do not appear if you do not configure them here!)
  • Go to Appearance > Widgets to configure editable widget areas within the theme.
  • Go to Appearance > Wonderflux to configure more advanced theme options including layout CSS generator.

Using as a starter for your own theme

  1. Duplicate the whole wfx-girder (this!) directory with all contained files.
  2. Change the name of the directory (the one you duplicated in step 1).
  3. Call your theme something different at the top of style.css (Theme Name: My Theme).
  4. Search and replace text string 'wfxgider' in all files to replace the text domain for translation.
  5. You are good to go!
