Dear Users and Developers,

The next version of GSN, v2.0.0, is finally in the starting blocks and is now replacing the v1.8.0 on the master branch! As it implies a lot of changes, not always backward compatible, we will help you doing the migration but we won't really keep the support for previous 1.x versions.

Basically now GSN is split into 3 main modules (the Core, the Services, and the Web UI). They can each be deployed somehow independently and replicated for scaling needs. We will progressively update also the wiki to reflect the new architecture. For each of the modules, we will provide a debian package and a universal zip package. Please also have a look at the new requirements for deploying them.

All java/scala modules are also available as jar from our repository (http://osper.epfl.ch:8081/artifactory/simple/gsn-release/gsn/) the maven central repository (https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/ch.epfl.gsn) to be imported when you develop new wrappers or virtual-sensors. You don't need anymore to have locally the whole GSN source code. A tutorial will also be posted on the wiki soon.

I hope you will have fun with this new version!

Best regards, Julien

edited 12.10.2016: osper repository is deprecated, all new artifacts are published on maven central.

Dear Users and Developers,

It is our pleasure to announce that we have completed the migration of GSN from SourceForge to Github.

The new repository is now accessible here: https://github.com/LSIR/gsn
We have correctly associated the user IDs for the users who claimed their commits.

The documentation has been migrated to the new wiki:
https://github.com/LSIR/gsn/wiki (a few pages are still to be added)

The issues are accessible here:
https://github.com/LSIR/gsn/issues?state=open

We have migrated the issues that are still relevant.
If you have any issues (bugs, features, questions) you want to complement, please add them there as the previous one on SourceForge will be closed.

Regarding the mailing list, we are still using the one in SourceForge but a new one will be announced shortly. We wanted to keep the same one for the time of transition.

From today, only the GitHub repository will be updated. The previous repository will be frozen and kept as a reference.

I also take the opportunity to announce that GSN will have a new manager: M. Julien Eberle.
From now on, he will take the lead for the project. I wish him good luck and a lot of success and to all of you.

If you have any questions, they are welcome.
