Summary

Data Release 2 (DR2) processing includes the first year of simulated DC2 observations.

Visit Selection

DR2 will include visits associated with the Wide Fast Deep (WFD) survey of the minion_1016 OpSim database. The WFD survey corresponds to proposal ID 54. For reference, here are the proposal IDs in minion_1016:

These survey proposals are described at this community.lsst.org post. The additional DC2 visits that sample the DDF have propID=56. Here's a plot of the pointing directions for the Year 1 (Y1) DC2 visits:

Single Frame Processing of Simulated Images

For most of the propID=54 survey, we'll use the Run2.2i sensor-visits, however for the DDF, we will use the Run3.1i sensor-visits. For the Run2.2i data, we should use the existing calexps that were made at CC-IN2P3 for DR6. For the Run3.1i data, we should run processCcd.py on those sensor-visits at NERSC. To enable this, it makes sense to set up a new repo into which we'll ingest the Run3.1i data and then generate the calexps for that repo. Then we can ingest the Run2.2i data, using the option to skip already ingested data. It will take a little work to link the existing Run2.2i calexps to this repo.
