- Canvas will be the source of truth for this class.
- All student tasks will be listed as assignments in Canvas.
- Access Canvas by going to learn.launchcode.org
- Students will be enrolled in the Canvas course.
- Instructors and TFs will be added as teachers.
- Student grades, including attendance will be recorded in Canvas.
- See grading section for how to grade.
- The Intro to Professional Web Dev book contains the chapters to be read, exercises, studio, and assignments.
- The book is open source, please create github issues on the github repo to provide direct feedback.
- Repl.it is an online code editor and code executing environment.
- Code can be shared via the URL and forked for modification.
- Used for coding examples, code practice, and as the students first coding environment
- Instructors, TFs, and students will need to create their own accounts.
- A way to organize, deliver, and verify coding assignments.
- Only graded assignments require GitHub Classroom at this time.
- See grading section for how to grade.
- Some starter code will be delivered by forking github repositories.
- Later on in the class students will turn in some assignments by providing a link to their repositories.
- Slack is a popular messaging tool that is used in the class.
- LaunchCode staff will send out an invitation to the Slack group specific to your class.
- Slack is a great tool to create community in your classroom.
The online course book contains short tutorials for the students on how to use Canvas and repl.it.
