Simple models to test TensorFlow 2.0 and CatBoost 0.15.2 with a small dataset
The boston housing dataset used in these test cases: http://lib.stat.cmu.edu/datasets/boston
CRIM - per capita crime rate by town
ZN - proportion of residential land zoned for lots over 25,000 sq.ft.
INDUS - proportion of non-retail business acres per town.
CHAS - Charles River dummy variable (1 if tract bounds river; 0 otherwise)
NOX - nitric oxides concentration (parts per 10 million)
RM - average number of rooms per dwelling
AGE - proportion of owner-occupied units built prior to 1940
DIS - weighted distances to five Boston employment centres
RAD - index of accessibility to radial highways
TAX - full-value property-tax rate per $10,000
PTRATIO - pupil-teacher ratio by town
B - 1000(Bk - 0.63)^2 where Bk is the proportion of blacks by town
LSTAT - % lower status of the population
MEDV - Median value of owner-occupied homes in $1000's
Dataset is suffled and split 70% training, 20% validation, 10% testing.
Train samples: 354 Validation samples: 100 Test samples: 52

The importance of each feature in the prediction solved by CatBoost. The importance of features may be different when predicting with the neural network method.
Describes how much on average the prediction changes if the feature value changes. The bigger the value of the importance the bigger on average is the change to the prediction value, if this feature is changed. Feature importance values are normalized so that the sum of importances of all features is equal to 100. This is possible because the values of these importances are always non-negative. more
CatBoost seems like a better solution for this kind of tabular data as it gives better accuracy and is faster to train even on CPU.
Different DNN achitectures or input normalization didn't seem to much affect the test score.
