Hi @jpl-jengelke - we should resolve the underlying question mentioned here: NASA-AMMOS/slim#108 or until we do that, include updates to the SLIM repo as well for updates to these underlying files. Good suggestions though. Let's review this ticket then port to the slim repo the necessary changes.
