Representativeness and Generalizability of Discoveries in EHR Populations

Approaches we develop with translator datasets may help to discover new risk factors for developing a condition, responding to a treatment, etc. Discoveries made in one population, however, may have limited success when applied to populations other than those that findings were made in. Thus, there is a need to quantify representativeness of data and generalizability of approaches so that we consider such limitations when applying clinically.

  • Task 1. Generalizability of clinical trial results for a population (developed by Orange and Red teams) here
  • Task 2. Representativeness of condition-specific signs and symptoms in a population here
  • Task 3. Representativeness of gene tests in a population
