What is WiiExplorer?

WiiExplorer is a Revolution Archive manager for computers to create, edit, or view RARC archives. Do note that these RARC archives are NOT part of Nintendo's NintendoWare series and are instead part of Nintendo's J3D System. In other words, WIIEXPLORER CANNOT OPEN U8 ARCHIVES such as those .szs files found in Mario Kart Wii.

A Brief History

WiiExplorer was made in December of 2019 as a response to the lack of a good archive editor for the Super Mario Galaxy modding community. It had it's first public release on July 22nd of 2020, and it was V1.2.0.0 because up until then it was used privately by me, mostly because it wasn't in a releasable state. Fast forward to today, and WiiExplorer has been claimed as the best RARC Editor in the world, ideal for modders of several communities.

Features

GUI

WiiExplorer has a clean, easy to use Graphical User Interface, as shown below:

This is what you will see when you open the program for the first time.
WiiExplorer also has a Dark Mode, which you can switch to and from at any time by clicking the "Switch Theme" button.
Below is what the Dark Mode looks like:

You will see this UI in different states as you read through this Wiki.

Speed

WiiExplorer is speedy at it's job. It does things quickly to not waste your time. Loading an archive takes more time based on how large it is, but it hasn't been reported taken more than 10 seconds yet. Below is what a sample archive looks like:

Saving is where the time can fluctuate, and it does this based on your Yaz0 Setting. While saving, the program will give you an Estimated completion time, and a counter to see how long it has been since you started. Once it's done it will tell you how it did, as shown below (it took not even a second, but these files are small)

Reliability

WiiExplorer is super reliable, and is tested thoroughly before each release. It is safe for use in your mods and won't corrupt your files. If a bug is found and reported in the Issues page, it is fixed as soon as possible to prevent inconveniences to others. Any game crashes are your fault 🙃.
