Analyse performance of websites

This is the assignment A08 for "Section 08: Web application performance".

You shall use a set of tools to evaluate performance of a few websites of your own selection and summarize your findings to your report page.

You may perform this assignment individually or in a group of max 4 people.

Prerequisites

You attained (or equal) the lecture on web application performance which provided an introduction to this assignment and the tools to use.

Requirements

1. The documentation is to be written to your report page. Be condensed. Write down the name of each group member, if it applies. Each member shall provide a copy of the report to their own report page.

2. You are to select three websites to analyse. You may choose these websites freely. Document your choice and why. You may choose three equal websites or three completely different, select those you find interesting to analyse.

3. You shall store your data in a data sheet and make that data available in or through your report page. Write it in a table in your report page of link to a Google sheet or proide a pdf/image of your datasheet and link to it.

4. Analyse each website using the following tools, document in your datasheet.

   • Devtools network tab
   • PageSpeed Insights
   • Lighthouse

5. Summarise your findings and elaborate upon web performance in general and your test suite in particular. Provide suggestions on how to quickly improve performance of your tested web sites. Note if you found any worst cases or really bad usage.
