This project has a big decision about where to get started - with the registration system or the workshop assignment algorithms. If you choose to focus on algorithms, you might start by creating a Google Form to collect registration information. It may still require some human intervention to process payments and clean up data, but it should be less work than transcribing handwritten registration forms! If you choose to focus on the registration system, you’ll need to decide on a Web framework in which to develop the application. There might even be some existing open-source conference registration system you could build upon.

Ruth shared a copy of the registration brochure with me. Reviewing it carefully should suggest some of the complexities of the registration and workshop assignment process.
