Getting Started

The easiest way to start a new Implementation Guide (IG) that uses the WHO IG Template is to begin with a copy of the CQF ig-starter IG. This is an IG that includes the basic structure of an IG that uses the CQF base IG template.

To create your new IG, copy the content (with the exception of the .git directory) of ig-starter to a new directory. Once copied, the first step is to ensure that the IG is building in its initial state. This is done by running the 'genonce' script that's included in the IG. If this build fails and you're unable to determine why, please log an Issue in the GitHub repository of the ig-starter. Once you're able to successfully build the IG you can begin changing filenames and values to better suite your new IG.

The /input/ig-starter.xml file contains your ImplementationGuide resource. By convention the name of this file should be the name of your IG. Once you've renamed that file, you'll want to update the value for "IG" in your ig.ini file to reflect the change.

You'll also want to change the appropriate values in the ImplementationGuide. Once you've done this and the IG is building, you can begin adding content and resources to your guide.
