06. Utilities Options
The Utilities tab in the Settings menu contains a few utilities that may or may not be needed.
The add-on generates a bunch of .ovpn files when a VPN provider is selected. These files are modified to add additional information, etc. Sometimes it's necessary to force the files to be regenerated, such as if different settings (ports, verb, etc) need to be applied. This option will delete the .opvn files and reset the validated connections so that new settings can be used.
The files needed to connect to a VPN are downloaded from GitHub when needed into to a directory in the userdata path called Downloads/<provider>
. This directory is managed by the add-on, with new files being downloaded as required. If you need to force the files to be downloaded again, then select this option.
If you've used a VPN provider that required you to upload key and cert files, then this option will allow you to delete any unused keys, key password and certificate files. You may need to do this if the VPN provider changes these files and you have to install new ones, or you may have changed providers and just want to delete unused files.
If you don't want to manually map a key to the connection cycling feature, you can use this option to select a key and write a keymap. Be aware that the Kodi keymap editor likes to rename keymaps that it didn't write, plus if you've any user defined keymaps, they'll be applied in alphabetical order. The add-on will do it's best to make sure the keymap stays in place, but if it doesn't, or the mapping doesn't work you should check out the keymap directory for clashes.
Same as the previous option, but maps a key to bring up a connection table.
Same as the previous two options, but will bring up a window full of information about the connection and the system.
