Hi @tomsun28 , since #459 we have new contribution guidelines in place, could you please take some time to answer the following questions as best you can? Thanks

  • Why is it awesome?
  • Have you used it? For how long?
  • Is this in a personal or professional setup?
  • How many devices/users/services/... do you manage with it?
  • Biggest pros/cons compared to other solutions?

hi @nodiscc , thanks for feedback.

  • Why is it awesome?

HertzBeat is an open source, real-time monitoring system with custom-monitor and agentless. Support web service, database, os, middleware, cloudnative and more. Github star 2.5k. Popular in reddit.

  • Have you used it? For how long?

Yes, i have used for two years. I am the author of this project.

  • Is this in a personal or professional setup?

Professional

  • How many devices/users/services/... do you manage with it?

More than 1k

  • Biggest pros/cons compared to other solutions?

Vs Zabbix. Hertzbeat has higher performance and operability, but its monitoring range is not as wide as zabbix.
Vs Prometheus. Hertzbeat can be operated on the page instead of configuring yml, and there is no need to deploy exporter in a large number of environments.

HertzBeat is an open-source, real-time monitoring system with custom-monitor and agentless.
Monitor+Alerter+Notify all in one. Support monitoring web service, database, os, middleware, cloud-native and more.
Most important is HertzBeat supports Custom Monitoring, just by editing YML file, we can customize monitor type and metrics what we want.
More liberal threshold alarm configuration (calculation expression), timely notification delivery by Discord Slack Telegram Email DingDing WeChat FeiShu Webhook SMS.

We make protocols such as Http, Jmx, Ssh, Snmp, Jdbc configurable, and you only need to configure YML to use these protocols to custom collect any metrics you want.
Do you believe that you can immediately adapt a new monitoring type such as K8s or Docker just by configuring YML?

HertzBeat's powerful custom-define, multi-type support, easy expansion, low coupling, hope to help developers and micro teams to quickly build their own monitoring system.

These changes look good from my end -- but I don't have approval rights 👍
