- commit messages say nothing about what was changed
- whitespace changes should be avoided (or more general any formatting without actual changes); they make it hard to see what was actually changed (e.g. paper/create_graph.py has no actual changes)
- binary files are explicitly excluded from the repository, they only bloat the repository's size and slow down the git workflow significantly
- why declare ctors explicit?
