Not sure if this is intentional on OpenSSL side (-> bug in ruby), or a bug there

Based on what I'm reading, I think that that there isn't much hope for Ruby <= 3.0 to build against OpenSSL 3 as distributed. Here are some links:

Ubuntu does have the issue marked as fixed — I think they work around by installing a newer set of gems with an updated version of the openssl gem?
