Additionally, I am super a fan of just having a bool in the function.

I thought maybe turn it to a variadic function so the reverse bool will be optional. By doing that, the API won't break but will be able to support reverse iteration.
Your solution obviously works too, but it add 3 functions that are basically the same code but with the "order" field set to reverse which is a sort of code duplication.
What approach should I take?

i think we should RawIterate getting bytes, then use the bytes as map index. (can be efficiently done with unsafe)
then convert them to the real type later using the key codec

not sure I follow. IterateRaw
uses an untyped range but returns a typed iterator. So we're not getting bytes out of it. Can you write a small pseudo code of what you meant? (or explain in other words?) @testinginprod

I am now converting the Multi
key codec to be a pairKeyCodec
so I can directly get the reference key codec and use it to encode to bytes (instead of using the unsafe
package).
It must work since the Multi
KeyCodec
is a key codec of a Pair
: ReferenceKey
and PrimaryKey
. I manually tried my new implementation with uint64
ref keys and it worked.
