Roadmap

This roadmap tracks the work we're hoping to get done before a public release on the Steam Workshop.

We want to have one character (The Wanderer) in a reasonably complete and playtested state before that point, but don't want to wait until all three planned characters are there. Thus, we're prioritizing Wanderer-related work ahead of work specific to the other characters.

General

Code

  • Ensure compatibility with Slay the Spire v2 (the current beta branch with the Watcher update)
  • Add issue/PR templates
  • Make card masking/resizing part of the build process
  • Remove base characters/cards

Wanderer

Code

  • Implement Wizard Hat, Memory Deck, and Recollection Deck
  • Implement Refuse to Forget (waiting for Watcher update to add a ScryAction we can use)
  • Update all card upgrade effects per design spreadsheet
  • Make a pass through the whole design spreadsheet and update effects whose design has changed since initial implementation
  • Make a pass through Character: Wanderer open issues
  • Implement relics
  • Implement events

Art

  • Create final card art for all cards (see tracking spreadsheet)
  • Campfire scenes
  • Heart kill cutscene
  • Character select screen background (in progress by SLG95)
  • Character select screen button
  • Power icons
  • Memory/clarity icons
  • Relic icons
  • Event scenes
  • Combat model + animation (in progress by chevy28360)

Playtesting

  • Some balance testing at A20
  • Possibly some balance testing at lower ascensions

Future work

After the Wanderer is in a releasable state, the next broad areas of work will be:

  • Character: The Cull
  • Character: The Explorer
  • Cross-character effects
  • Encounter voiceovers
