As part of the [references](https://www.notion.so/dbtlabs/Evaluate-References-content-v1-3102e75968cd4c8fb0d92d4e3eb54c25) project, this pr serves as the master pr (with pr #2642 branching off this one) to: - **Move to docs -> setup dbt platforms -> dbt core** - need to add redirects in supported platforms page, add links in the adapters guide - need to add table to supported platforms page bc it only directs users to core set up, not cloud - **Clarify content in setup cli section** - Clarify content or pages: profiles.yml as intro and how connections profiles fits - its warehouse setup that explains how to connect platform to dbt (this includes profiles, adapter packages and connecting to dbt core) - contains many diff ways to authenticate with platform (cloud usually has less ways) - it also contains profile parameters - **warehouse config** - clarify this section explains how to do data platform-specific things in cloud and core

Hi @mirnawong1 - This draft is almost a year old. As we've moved a lot since then and have more changes incoming, would it be a good idea to close this PR and open an issue to get this addressed in the future? |

Hey @matthewshaver , thank you! Yes this was part of a project that I was working one earlier. Then it was deferred to post coalesce after discussion with Leona so I was going to look at this next month. I'm happy to expedite this and take a look next week if it's blocking you on anything. |
