At long last v1.3 of the EBI Icon fonts is being released.

It has been quite mature and stable since summer and brings a number of architectural changes; to summarise:

1. The new EBI-Common font that:

• Includes icons from EBI-Social, EBI-Generic, EBI-Functional
• Has icons from Font Awesome (key codes are the same as those on Font Awesome's gallery)

2. Icons can be picked with CSS classes in addition to data-attributes:

• <i class="icon icon-common" data-icon="&#xf038;"></i>
• <i class="icon icon-common icon-align-right"></i>

What's next?

We'll be discussing if we make a v1.4 on work on a version that support the Visual Framework 2.0. In short, do we make more iterative tweaks (v1.4) or plan a more open re-imagining (v2.0)

Probably our final RC.

This RC brings a few minor fixes:

• ttfautohint has been re-enabled on the build image so icons should look better at small sizes
• camera icon is back
• clock icon updated to better match the style in v1.2 (which was "better")
