### Prepare this source code

We suggest to use the vsCode ESP-IDF extension. In vsCode, press `Ctrl/cmd + Shift + P` shortcut will open the command panel and enter 'ESP-IDF Welcome' to open the ESP-IDF Welcome panel. Click on the "New Project" buttom and then "Choose Template". Select the 'ESP-IDF' template, you'll be able to search template by name with enter the name of the example projects such as "i2c_oled".

**Note:** Although here these example projects are displayed with different indentation levels, giving the impression that you can perform a fuzzy search or search based on their parent elements, the search mechanism is different. You can only search using the deepest level (the most specific level). That is to say, even though i2c_oled is located at examples/peripherals/lcd/i2c_oled, it cannot be found with keywords like 'peripheral' or 'lcd'. Its parent folder names are not searchable! You can only find it using keywords like 'i2c' or 'i2c_oled'!!

### Build and Flash

Run `idf.py -p PORT build flash monitor` to build, flash and monitor the project. A scrolling text will show up on the LCD as expected.
