Datasets
The webpage presents gamma-ray data (mostly images and catalog) as well as other multi-wavelength data that is useful to investigate and understand the gamma-ray data.
What the site contains at the moment is just a starting point. If you have an idea for data we should add, please contact us, or even collaborate and add it with us!
Currently, gamma-sky.net contains the following image and catalog data:
Survey images are prepared in HIPS format. CDS is providing 300+ survey images in HIPS format.
The main image we display at the moment is a Fermi-LAT color image:
- Best pixel size of 0.014 deg
- RGB in energy bands R=0.3-1GeV, G=1-3GeV, B=3-300GeV
In the toolbox drop down labeled "Base image layer", we currently display these additional surveys:
- Planck R2 LFI Color 30-44-70 GHz
- Planck R1 HFI Color 353-545-857 GHz
- Planck R2 HFI Color 353-545-857 GHz
- Haslam 408
- Spitzer GLIMPSE360
- IRIS Band 4-100um
- CGPS-VGPS CONT
- AKARI 90um
- INTEGRAL IBIS Color
- ROSAT all-sky
- XMM-Newton EPIC
- SUZAKU
(Note: some of the links may be broken.)
You're welcome to request for another survey to be added to the website. As a start, you can look through CDS' HiPS database mentioned above.
See http://gamma-sky.net/#/cat
We're not using TeVCat because the TeVCat terms say "Users may not perform systematic downloads of TeVCat data for any purpose ...", i.e. the data isn't openly available for download.
