Patches for Linux 4.15 #2
base: wip
Are you sure you want to change the base?
Conversation
I think kerner-header should be linux header.
Update Makefile
Improve compatibility with Linux 5.0
Thank you for all the work you put into porting it to newer kernels! Unfortunately, I no longer own a HSF modem to test it myself. If it's alright with you I will keep this PR open and redirect any requests for patches to here (or your repository). |
Hi, George! My question upfront and then background: Can I still effectively test this project if I have a(n) HSF modem but do NOT have a working dial-up connection anymore? The background on my question: I found this project a while back but couldn't get anything to work BECAUSE I was on dial-up. 😆 As of this past May, I'm FINALLY using something slightly faster so I'm attempting to play with Github projects again. This HSF modem project remains of personal interest because I know that there ARE still people out there on dial-up who are being left behind everyone else who is not.. That's heartbreaking because, in a way, the very people who might need the Internet the most are the ones who are being locked out in that manner. 💔 As an aside if no one else has experienced it: The problem I started having with Github was that NOTHING could be downloaded. It would download maybe 2MB of projects then fail for ALL Github projects, regardless of owner, project size, AND method of attempted download (i.e. the tarball and via Linux This began a few weeks after Github changed hands whenever that was. It wasn't just me. The general consensus on related threads was invariably the same: The minority of affected users were just out of luck, no fixes exist, end of discussion. So, especially for this critical Internet access project, my observation is that it would help low income folks and those without high speed Internet if either the project is echoed, synced in whole somewhere else or... the final release package tarball alone is additionally hosted somewhere else for each cycle.. I hope that came out right AND makes some kind of sense. #ThankYou all for all you do! 😄 |
Should be able to run AT commands without having the connection, no? |
Managed to compile it on Ubuntu 18.04.
