As discussed. Right now it’s really not clear without looking very carefully. Some experimentation seems in order (Zach's suggestion of outlining the sort column in a dark color was not popular)

Improve visibility of column sort state adjust sliders

Highlight the ascending/descending arrow to improve the visibility of
the column's current sort state.  Slightly reduce the size of the
slider handles.
