@jsnel Besides the pydantic version bump the scheme generation now differentiates in the style between pydantic<2.9.0 and pydantic>=2.9.0 to generate schemes of consistent style.
Since pydantic>=2.9.0 removed a workaround in the scheme generation.

Not ideal having to maintain two versions of the config (even if just in the tests).

And at some point in the future I would invert the logic (check for smaller than, rather than greater than).

But otherwise this all looks fine.
