Walkthrough

The changes in this pull request primarily affect the DeployableTraderAgent class in the prediction_market_agent_tooling/deploy/agent.py file, specifically the process_market method. The logic for executing trades has been restructured to include a check for the self.place_bet attribute within the trade execution loop, enhancing logging clarity by including market URLs. Additionally, a test for local deployment has been removed from one test file, while a new test for the same functionality has been added to another file, utilizing mocking for improved control during testing.

Changes

File Change Summary
prediction_market_agent_tooling/deploy/agent.py Modified process_market method to check self.place_bet inside the loop, enhancing logging for skipped trades. placed_trades list now only populated if trades are executed.
tests_integration/deploy/test_deploy.py Removed test function test_local_deployment.
tests_integration_with_local_chain/deploy/test_deploy.py Added new test function test_local_deployment utilizing mocking for get_web3.

1-7: LGTM: Imports are well-organized and relevant.

The imports are logically grouped and separated by empty lines, following good Python practices. All imported modules are relevant to the test function.

10-16: Consider adding assertions to verify deployment success.

The test function successfully sets up the environment for local deployment, but it lacks assertions to verify the deployment's outcome or behavior. This may result in a test that passes even if the deployment fails silently.

Consider adding assertions to check:

  1. If the agent was deployed successfully.
  2. If the agent's state after deployment is as expected.
  3. If any expected side effects occurred (e.g., specific logs were generated).

Would you like assistance in drafting these assertions or in identifying specific aspects of the deployment to verify?

Line range hint 461-478: Improved logging and trade execution flow

The changes enhance the logging granularity and trade execution flow:

  1. Moving the self.place_bet check inside the loop allows for logging of skipped trades.
  2. Adding the market URL to the log message improves traceability.
  3. The logic for populating placed_trades remains correct, ensuring only executed trades are recorded.

These modifications provide better visibility into the agent's decision-making process regarding trade placements without altering the core functionality.

Now we can place bets, but I disabled the language; no need to spam it with this test.

Moved the if self.place_bet check just to see what bets would be placed during testing.
