To install the build dependacies on SL6 you may need the epel repo.

From a base SL6 install:

yum install libxslt \
    fop \
    docbook-style-xsl \
    rpm-build \
    make \
    git \
    -y

For a debian wheezy install
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

apt-get install xsltproc fop make git

To build the book
~~~~~~~~~~~~

GITLOCATION="git://github.com/hepix-virtualisation/hepix-virtualisation-book.git"
rm -rf build
git clone ${GITLOCATION} build
cd build
make html
make pdf
cd ..
rm -f artifacts.tgz
tar -zcvf artifacts.tgz build/*.pdf build/Book


Post install steps

I then copy the artifacts.tgz file to the web server and expand it, this way you get the output

With PDF and html versions.
