Using the template

Place the template in %UserProfile%\Documents\SweetScape\010 Templates\Repository

  • Open up the XML-file that holds the FPA-dataset. Usually that would be in ODIS or VCP format.

  • Copy the raw data, which is usually the data underneath startaddress 0x0000B8, to clipboard.
  • Go to 010 editor, open a new document and set it to hex-mode:

  • Paste from hex:

  • The 0x00-shaped hex data is now pasted into the hex view. If you see 0x00-shaped ASCII on the right side of your screen, you didn't paste as hex text.

  • Run the template on this document.

  • Data will now be marked with various colors. Green = known and verified meaning, yellow = possible meaning, red = unknown. Blue = data for hybrid cars.

  • The variables view will show data in some structured way:

  • And the output console shows a summary of the data inside this dataset:

You are now ready to investigate what's inside the file, make changes and have fun!
