Welcome to the La Capitaine Wiki. This collection of articles aims to act as documentation for the project, as well as act as a guide for creating icon requests, submitting issues, and making pull requests.
In the future, there will be proper design documentation so that community members may have a solid set of guidelines for contributing new icons.
La Capitaine is a popular SVG icon theme for modern *NIX desktops like GNOME, MATE, KDE, XFCE, Budgie, and more.
Some older and environments that don't support SVG themes properly may not work well. Issues have been noted with Windowmaker, for instance, and unfortunately these environments cannot be supported unless the icons are rasterized in advance. In the future, a script may be provided to rasterize the SVGs to various appropriate sizes, but at the moment this is well beyond the scope of this project. If you insist on using an antiquated desktop, you'll have to rasterize these images yourself and write a new theme index. This should be doable if you have inkscape installed on your machine.
If you've come here asking for support on Windows machines, you're out of luck. It may be possible to use this on a Mac, but I honestly have no idea.
