Here are some pgfpages layouts for producing beamer handouts like PowerPoint ones. You get 3 slides per page, with 3 "notes" slides (with lines!) on the sides.
The fancy style is newer, and might be set up for 16x9 slides, whereas the original
is 4x3. Not sure.
