Brainstorm
Some ideas for the game scope.
I wish for a online hacking game with an interface similar to Slave Hack 2. I have included below a list of references of what I consid er to be close to what I aim.
The game should allow a non tech person to play, just like any other hacker game. However, as it's hacker themed, it should encourage the player to learn things and dig deeper, since that's basically what th e hacker culture is about. In that sense, the game shall start as a s imple clicking contest just like Hacker Forever which can be play ed by non tech people, but with increasing difficulty and the need to read manuals like Uplink, and finally include real world elements which will require the study of real world hacking knowledge like H ack The Box. That would be the basic game.
On an advanced concept, I foresee a player character in a virtual wor ld which not only types in a terminal but also build and maintain phy sical robots (inside the game world). It could be current world robot s or cyberpunk self replicating robots to automate tasks.
Also on a pivoting concept I am interested in the science of the soil s so a player character that has to eat in a RPG should make a pause on hacking to grow crops. It can be even expanded as an online multip layer to have a generated world where the player can transport spare food to other players which doesn't have access to certain nutrients creating an economy in game. Perhaps a crypto currency can be used.
