My name is Mayuran Visakan and I'm currently attending the MSc Statistics course at Imperial College London. I have a maths background with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge. My interests include machine learning, data science, and software development as well as mathematics, statistics and computer science. I also love learning new languages and I am currently aiming to learn C++. My favourite colour is ${\color{orange}\text{orange}}$ :).

My favourite tools are VSCode for development and Obsidian for note taking about mathematics, coding (see my Obsidian plugin Code Styler) and linked information, though I prefer creating documents in $\LaTeX$ or with pandoc.

I have experience in a number of programming languages with advanced experience in Python, R, Matlab and Typescript/Javascript. This includes a detailed understanding of both HTML and CSS. I also have intermediate experience in Excel and C.

My skillset also includes advanced knowledge of shell scripting, version control using git and database access using SQLite. I also have in-depth knowledge of setting up development environments including virtual environments and environment variables.

I also have extensive experience with the markup languages $\LaTeX$ and Markdown for creating professional and academic documents.

I have experience with a number of popular python packages including Numpy, Pandas, SciPy and SciKit-Learn. I also have experience with the machine learning libraries PyTorch and Tensorflow.
