Ndrangheta : analysis of the hierarchical structure of the clan "La Lombarda"

Analysis of the encounters between members of the ’Ndrangheta clan "La Lombarda" occurred between 2007 and 2009 at different locations in Lombardia, a region in Northern Italy. We investigate the structural and hierarchical characteristics of the criminal organisation and find that the size of a family determines the importance of its members in the clan. The overall methodology could aid police investigations in more efficiently devoting resources when tracing back the Godfather.
