Hello!
The problem occurs sometimes when copying text from windows program running under Wine on Linux. The text gets searched twice, sometimes 3 or 4 times, and this is kind of annoying. It results in wasting more time to search, and opening multiple tabs. I don't know whether it's Wine or X11 bug, it's going to be a hell to figure out. But search repetitions aren't useful anyway, hence the PR.
