Exercise: Install Git

Overview

Git is used to fetch project templates and plugins, so it is a mandatory dependency for all Cordova projects, include PhoneGap apps.

Install

Lucky for you, Github's got your back when it comes to installing and configuring Git!

  1. Go to Github's Setup Guide
  2. Follow their instructions to configure Git.
  • Windows users can skip their recommendation to install the Github Windows client, unless you want to use it.

Windows-users only:

If Windows users are interested in a more minimal, installation, you can use the official Git installer instead of the Github Windows Application:

  1. Go to the Official Git Download Page
  2. Download and install Git!
