Auth

A simple terminal-based authenticator app written in Rust that generates TOTP codes.

Security

Warning

TOTP secrets are stored encrypted in ~/.local/share/auth/entries.toml. The key to unencrypt them is stored in ~/.local/share/auth/key.

Installation

Arch Linux

Auth is available on the AUR

# Using `paru` as an example, replace with your desired AUR helper.
paru -S auth-tui

Releases

Prebuilt binaries can be found in the releases page

curl -fsSL https://github.com/nnyyxxxx/auth/releases/latest/download/auth -o auth
chmod +x auth
# Using `sudo` as an example, replace with your desired escalation tool.
sudo mv auth /usr/bin

Building

The built binary will be located inside of target/release/, Then it can be placed in /usr/bin/.

# Using `pacman` as an example, replace with your desired package manager.
sudo pacman -S --needed rust git base-devel
git clone https://github.com/nnyyxxxx/auth.git
cd auth
cargo build --release
