Making open imagery of the October 2017 Santa Rosa-Sonoma-Napa fires available as slippy maps. A full how-to is now available on the Mapbox blog. But here are the basic steps:
- Use
setup_ec2.sh
to set up an EC2 instance so you don't have to download dozens of gigs of imagery via your home internet connection. - Run
process_data.sh
to stitch satellites images together. Assumes you already have the data on the machine you're using. - Use Mapbox Studio to configure and publish your map.
