Hello,
it would be useful to add "scan_topic" as a re-configurable parameter, to allow people to have more flexibility when choosing the scan topic name.
I tested it with:

  • Ubuntu version : Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS
  • ROS Humble
  • Laser Model: Hokuyo URG-04LX-UG01

It's really more ROS-y to use the already supported topic remapping (https://design.ros2.org/articles/static_remapping.html), rather than a parameter.

Typically, the only time a parameter is used would be when you have lots of plugins which might have overlapping topic names which prevents the remapping to work correctly.
