I've been an open source contributor for many years now, starting with patches to software like the Exim MTA and FreeRADIUS then moving on to my own libraries and apps. In the last decade I became lead developer and manager of the Netdisco project and its associated SNMP::Info Perl library. We have a large community of users covering education, network service providers, and enterprise large and small, so the diversity of requests and work to do is broad.
I enjoy building our community of users, developers, supporters. I enjoy that this free software helps staff working alone to save time, or schools or charities where commercial options aren't available, or is tested to its limits in multinational organisations. I enjoy encouraging others to submit their ideas, patches, and documentation to make our projects better. And because my day job is mostly technical leadership now, it's rewarding to keep my hand in on implementing the latest technologies in networks and application engineering.
I hope that by using GitHub Sponsors, you will know that I am encouraged to keep Netdisco development moving, with the fixes and features it needs. I can also focus on specific features if you wish, just let me know. Many thanks!
