Stash 0.7.0-rc.1 requires Kubernetes 1.8.x or later versions. Stash now uses MutatingWebhook instead of initializers to inject sidecar in Kubernetes 1.9.x or later clusters. Since MutatingWebhook is a beta feature, you can use this in GKE. This feature is essential for automatically injecting sidecars into newly created StatefulSets.
