This library is used for reading the proprietary TBL files that are generated by the Lab Volt software used in my Fundamentals of Power Engineering class at Lamar University. It can be used as a stand alone program for printing or as a library that has functions to return a 2-D python list containing the table. Examples: to print to STDIO with column titles from lab_1.tbl run, python openTbl.py -ti lab_1.tbl [pauls@aqm ~/labVolt]$ python openTbl.py -ti lab_1.tbl E1,V E3,V I1,A I2,A I3,A PQS1 (E1,I1),W f (E1),Hz RXZ (E1,I1),ohms 30.07 0.05 0.15 0 0 4.48 59.92 201.41 35.26 0.05 0.18 0 0 6.17 59.93 201.29 40.85 0.05 0.2 0 0 8.28 59.92 201.36 44.93 0.05 0.22 0 0 10.03 59.91 201.12 50.21 0.04 0.25 0 0 12.54 59.89 201.02 55.12 0.04 0.27 0 0 15.1 59.9 201.11 60.03 0.05 0.3 0 0 17.92 59.89 201.04 64.62 0.05 0.32 0 0 20.78 59.9 200.86 70.08 0.04 0.35 0 0 24.49 59.89 200.55 75.04 0.05 0.37 0 0 28.06 59.88 200.62 80.25 0.05 0.4 0 0 32.12 59.88 200.45 to use as a library, In [1]: from openTbl import readLabVoltTBL In [2]: labels, data = readLabVoltTBL('lab_1.tbl') In [3]: print labels ['E1,V', 'E3,V', 'I1,A', 'I2,A', 'I3,A', 'PQS1 (E1,I1),W', 'f (E1),Hz', 'RXZ (E1,I1),ohms'] In [4]: print data [[30.07, 0.050000000000000003, 0.14999999999999999, 0, 0, 4.4800000000000004, 59.920000000000002, 201.41], [35.259999999999998, 0.050000000000000003, 0.17999999999999999, 0, 0, 6.1699999999999999, 59.93, 201.28999999999999], [40.850000000000001, 0.050000000000000003, 0.20000000000000001, 0, 0, 8.2799999999999994, 59.920000000000002, 201.36000000000001], [44.93, 0.050000000000000003, 0.22, 0, 0, 10.029999999999999, 59.909999999999997, 201.12], [50.210000000000001, 0.040000000000000001, 0.25, 0, 0, 12.539999999999999, 59.890000000000001, 201.02000000000001], [55.119999999999997, 0.040000000000000001, 0.27000000000000002, 0, 0, 15.1, 59.899999999999999, 201.11000000000001], [60.030000000000001, 0.050000000000000003, 0.29999999999999999, 0, 0, 17.920000000000002, 59.890000000000001, 201.03999999999999], [64.620000000000005, 0.050000000000000003, 0.32000000000000001, 0, 0, 20.780000000000001, 59.899999999999999, 200.86000000000001], [70.079999999999998, 0.040000000000000001, 0.34999999999999998, 0, 0, 24.489999999999998, 59.890000000000001, 200.55000000000001], [75.040000000000006, 0.050000000000000003, 0.37, 0, 0, 28.059999999999999, 59.880000000000003, 200.62], [80.25, 0.050000000000000003, 0.40000000000000002, 0, 0, 32.119999999999997, 59.880000000000003, 200.44999999999999]] Copyright: This code is based off a similar program (http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/19666-lab-volt-data-file-reader) for use with matlab by Gleb Tcheslavski http://www.ee.lamar.edu/gleb/index.htm Copyright (c) 2011, Paul Stenius All rights reserved.
