Hi, this relates to #603.
I added a draft of a few learner profiles who may benefit from this course. I included further details for each of them. Please let me know what you think and how that can be further improved.

I like the proposed profiles. Additionally, we sought feedback about your proposal on the Carpentries' instructors slack channel and it did not raise any objections.

The following question doesn't impact the integration of your changes but I'd love to pick your brain since you have thought about this topic already: I was told in the past that this lesson was also a way to teach programming concepts, beyond the specifics of R. For example, learners will be introduced to loops, functions, conditionals, variable types, etc. In this context, the use of R is only accessory to the learning and serves to make the concepts more concrete. But once the concepts are understood, they directly transfer to other programming languages.

Does this perspective make sense to you? If so, would you like to add another learner profile that speaks to this?
