Connecting to Lunabot for dummies

Najman Husaini edited this page Apr 23, 2024 · 2 revisions

The simplest process for connecting to Lunabot involves connecting to it under the same router, after the lunabot program has been initiated. To simplify the process, Lunabase (our mission control software) automates this process. As such, the only additional software you need to start and connect to lunabot is Lunabase, which can be downloaded here. Place it in its own folder as the application will generate several files.

Assuming you have downloaded it, run the application (run Lunabase.console instead of just Lunabase) and follow these steps:

  1. Click Lunaportal

  2. Configure the address (if you are connected to the same router as Lunaserver, you do not need to change it. The password for the router is just the default shown on the bottom of the router).
  3. Click Connect

  4. If you see the above screen, you are done! If not, copy the stuff displayed in the console and send to me.
  5. Press Back to Menu
  6. Click Lunabase

  7. Verify that it says Connected in the top left

The easiest way to control lunabot is with a PlayStation controller. The right joystick controls the drive and steering. The D-Pad up and down control the arm, and triangle and cross control the bucket. If you do not have a controller, the on-screen controls work as well. The click to drive square emulates a joystick. If you click on it, your cursor will act as a joystick centered around the center of the square. If your cursor leaves the square, the square will stop controlling lunabot and you must click on it again. Do note that the sliders for the arm and bucket do not currently work.
