I think some information on a new Sober update would be beneficial for users in general. It may fix whatever issues users are having and possibly decrease the amount of open issues.

I've left a small template of what it could look like: Improvements to it are absolutely welcome.

When people have an issue, they come here to report it - having it in the readme would be helpful to prevent people from reporting the same issue over and over again

Agreed! It's a struggle to read through very common issues (that can also be very simple issues). That's definitely a good idea. I think my suggestion of a version number could be substituted with the date just to simply let people know that an update has happened (so if clients break then it could be attributed to an update)
