October: Adding a national adjustment budget/MTBPS

Steps

Announcing and linking on the homepage (Content manager)

  1. A few days before, advertise the upcoming MTBPS on the homepage
  2. When the live stream link is available, advertise the link
  3. When the speech starts, link to the files on treasury.gov.za and start the rest of the upload process

Uploading content to vulekamali

  1. Upload the key budget documents (Metadata editor)
  2. Upload the AENE vote chapter PDF and XLSX files
    1. Follow the bulk-uploading procedure
    2. See the section for specifics on AENE conventions to ensure you annotate them correctly
  3. The AENE structured fiscal dataset must be added to OpenSpending and the dataset on OpenSpending added to CKAN

Responsible roles

  • Metadata editor
  • ETL Developer

Data requirements

  • Key adjusted budget documents - usually on treasury.gov.za
  • Adjusted Estimates of National Expenditure chapter PDF and XLSX per vote
  • Adjustments dataset (example below)
