Supported Scenarios

Installation Sources

• from local Media (both base product and Add-Ons)
• from remote repositories (nfs/http/https/ftp/...)
• from add-ons offered by SCC

Installation Types

• Local
  • Graphical
  • Text mode
  • Serial line (basically it is the same as text mode)
• Remote via
  • SSH
  • VNC
  • Web (optional)

All methods (besides web, but that is not an issue) are currently supported, so we do not have to invent anything new here, just use what we have.

Installation Methods

• from RPMs
• deploying a Studio/RAW image (maybe different kind of image)
• anything that user wants but also provides (e.g. via DUD)

There is no new requirement (except the image type) compared to current installer, we just have to take care not to drop something we have.
