Open VS Code and press F1 or Ctrl + Shift + P to open command palette, select Install Extension and type vscode-covert-reader

Or launch VS Code Quick Open (Ctrl + P), paste the following command, and press enter.

Alternatively, in the Extensions pane, search for Covert Reader
extension and install it there.

Not perfectly compatible with vscode-background. It may prompt you to restart VS Code.
